Good for you Jayanti, you are brave and eloquent and I am grateful that you have taken the time and energy to express the SCC story for us all.

Thanks for this blog. It was nice to be an onlooker to a segment of your life. I tend to lead, what feels to me like, a myopic life so it was nice to peer into a collegue's life, although I am almost done at OCC. Best wishes for your career and I'm looking forward to reading your book soon.

Fondly, Melanie Mackey

I read Cartwheels in 1 sitting. It was THAT good. I always admired the fact that your family was all together on the same spiritual path. You were the envy of all. Little did we suspect what was really going on. Just goes to show we never truly know what goes on in another's mind. I'm glad you finally got out and now have a family of your own. I'm wondering though how your Mom is doing. I always liked her & wish her all happiness.

Dear Jayanti,
Thank you for writing your book. I enjoyed it immensely. Having been a disciple in the San Franicisco center from 1972 -1982 I was amused by trying to figure out the real names to the people whose names you changed.

Congratulations on the book and it's success and on taking your life back.

Dear Jayanti,
It was great to hear your voice after so many years. I always felt that you saw through the illusion and I could be honest about my own doubts, even though it was "not allowed". I ran into Liz a few years ago and was shocked by her story and I'm so happy to hear it come out.

SNV was trying to kill off a similar effort in 2002 by a group of four woman that wanted to tell their story. I think it will take a decade for everything to come out because of the damage it could cause. Despite being one of the guards, I feel like I missed out on parts of the story but there is so much I would like to share from the male side of the fence. Perhaps you could ghost write for us.

The hardest part for me was realizing that my integrity was systematically removed from me. After leaving, it took five years to realize that I had lost it. I had to learn about having relationships at 35 when I had the emotional knowledge of a 20 year old. Luckily I found an amazing woman and we are so happy together. Life does begin at 40. Good luck on your book tour and I hope to see you on the road.

Interestingly, I have just read your book while considering myself to leave this cult. What struck me most was the candor in which you told your story. After years of leading a double life and keeping secrets from my friends and family, I, too, will have to muster that kind of courage if I want to have sincere relationships and to search for truth according to _my own_ "inner feelings" and "inner commands."

All ex-disciples and current disciples of Sri Chinmoy should read this book.
Spent more than 10 years in this group/cult myself. I've been out of the centre for more than 10 years now, but when I read the last part of your book (about the 80's and 90's), I got the claustrophobic feeling of being back in the centre again.
Thanks Jayanti for writing your story. I wish you great success with your book and with your life.
